2022 RACE MEET
It’s almost race meet time!! The fall meet at Shenandoah Downs will start September 16th and end on November 6th. We will race Fridays and Saturdays for the first five weekends. The last three weekends will switch to Saturdays and Sundays. Racing applications and track rules are available on our website at www.VHHA.net on the 2022 Race Meet tab or contact Debbie Warnick at 443-463-0917 if you need copies mailed to you.
The Breeders’ Fund eliminations for three year old pacers will be held on October 22nd. Three year old trotter eliminations will be held on October 23rd. Two year old pacer eliminations will be held on October 29th and trotter eliminations will be held on October 30th. The finals for the Breeders’ Fund and the Aged races will be November 6th.
DIRECT DEPOSIT
Direct deposit of purse checks will continue to be the only method of payment for owners, trainers and drivers. If you completed the forms previously, AND NOTHING HAS CHANGED, you must complete the Purse Authorization form. If you did not complete the W9 and Direct Deposit forms previously, you must complete them and return them by email, regular mail or fax. Trainers please make your owners aware of this requirement. Forms are available on our website under the Race Meet tab.
HOTEL DISCOUNT
The Comfort Inn will be offering a discount for horsemen again this year. Contact Debbie for the information on how to take advantage of this. Remember to make your reservations early as the hotel fills up fast.
2022 SHENANDOAH COUNTY FAIR
The Shenandoah County fair will host harness racing on August 31st through September 3rd. We anticipate being able to offer purses that match the purses of last year. Check our Facebook page or website for further information on the fair as it develops.
ASSOCIATION MEETING & BOARD MEMBER SEATS
Our annual association meeting will be held at the race meet on September 23rd after the races in the Lilly barn. There will be three board member seats open for election this year. If you are interested in having your name on the ballot, please contact Debbie by August 15th. Voting can be done in person at the meeting or by mail in ballot.
MEMBERSHIP DUES
You must have a current membership in the VHHA to be able to vote at the annual meeting. Our dues are still only $30.00 unless you select the optional driver’s membership. Forms are available on our website or by contacting Debbie. We hope that everyone will continue to support the VHHA.
