2019 RACE MEET

Racing applications and all the information you need to know are posted on our website. www.VHHA.net under the 2019 race meet tab. The deadline for submitting applications is August 2nd. Don’t delay, get yours in today.

We have lots of exciting promotions planned for this year’s meet starting with the return visit of Foiled Again on our opening weekend. We will also have powder puff races, own a horse for a day, meet & greet the drivers, weiner dog races and lots of giveaways.

HHYF DAY CAMP

The Harness Horse Youth Foundation camp that was held on July 8th and 10th was a huge success! Nineteen local youths participated and there were only three kids who had any ties to harness racing in the group. The kids learned everything about getting a horse ready to race, then they actually put all the equipment on a horse and went on a jog around the track with one of our volunteer drivers. Then they gave the horses a bath and washed all the equipment. They also cleaned all the stalls and the barn. Watching the kids and seeing how excited they are about learning and working with the horses is great. Many thanks to Ellen Taylor and Katie from HHYF who spend the whole summer traveling and putting on these programs. Thanks also to our volunteers, Dee Lineweaver, Betsy Brown, Emily Dysart, Joyce Lineweaver, Eileen Lineweaver and Debbie Warnick.

CERTIFIED RESIDENCY PROGRAM

We are starting to accept foals for our new Residency program. Don’t forget to register your 2019 foals so they can start their six month residency requirement. Horses that meet the residency requirements will receive bonus payments for their races during their two and three year old seasons. More information as well as the forms are available on our website (www.vhha.net) or by contacting Debbie Warnick.
