HARNESS HORSE YOUTH CAMP

The response to our HHYF open house was so great last year, that this year it is being expanded to two days. Participants will get to learn more about our wonderful sport and will even learn how to drive a horse. The HHYF is bringing their horses so participants can actually drive a horse themselves. The dates for this event are July 8th and July 10th at Shenandoah Downs. We will need some volunteers that are experienced with handling the horses to help out so please mark these dates on your calendar and plan on helping out. It is so much fun to watch how excited the participants are at learning about harness racing. These young people are the future of our sport.

BABY PICTURES

Spring has sprung and babies are starting to drop everywhere. Send me pictures of all your adorable little foals so I can post them on our Facebook page and show off the great Virginia babies. You can email (info@vhha.net) or text (443-463-0917) them to me.

STALLIONS

Speaking of babies, and their Mamas, don’t forget that we have two stallions standing in Virginia this year. Gregory Pecs (Muscles Yankee/Ediths Chip/Pine Chip) is returning and will be standing in Draper. Contact Gideon Brenneman at 704-539-4049 for information. Artzina (Artiscape/Koutzina/No Nukes) will be standing in Pilgrim Knob. Contact Michael Viars at 276-312-1171 for information.

CERTIFIED RESIDENCY PROGRAM

Horses that meet the residency requirements will receive bonus payments for their races during their two and three year old seasons. More information as well as the forms are available on our website (www.vhha.net) or by contacting Debbie Warnick.
