BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING JAN 30TH 2017

MEETING CALLED TO ORDER AT 6.0S PM


ALL DIRECTORS PRESENT WITH THE EXCEPTION OF MARY DAWSON


SECRETARY ADVISED THE BOARD THAT HE HAD RECEIVED A LETTER OF RESIGNATION FROM MARY DAWSON DUE TO THE ILL HEALTH OF HER HUSBAND.


SOMW MEMBERS ASKED IF THEY COULD GET A COPY OF T5HE LAST MEETINGS MINUTES AND THE SECRETARY ADVISED THEY THAT THEY HAD BEEN POSTED ION THE WEB SITE FOR THE LAST MONTH.


AMANDA JACKSON READ THE MJINUTES AND THE PRESIDENT MADE A MOTION TO ACCEPT THE MINUTES AS READ. SECONDED BY BETSY BROWN. MOTION CARRIED.


SECRETARY ADVISED THE BOARD THE WE NEEDED ONE MORE DIRECTOR THE MAY BE APPOINTED BY THE BOARD


AMANDA SUGESTED THE MEMBERS EACH SUBMIT THEIR CHOICE AND THEN THE FULL BOARD CAN VOTE AT THE NEXT MEETING.


DISCUESSION ON THE EXCISTING OTB’S AND THE UPCOMING ONE IN CHESAPEAKE.


PRESIDENT STATED THE BIG PROBLEM WITH PONIES AND PIPES IS PAY PARKING.


VEA TO LOOK INTO IF ANYTHING CAN BE DONE TO RESOLVE THAT ISSUE.


GREGG TROTTO SPOKE ABOUT THE KIOSK’S AND THAT TVG WAS FINDING THE COST TOO HIGH BUT IS STILL WORKING IN THIS ISSUE.


DISCUSSION WAS HELD AS TO THE OPTIONS FOR THOROUGHBRED RACING WHICH SEEM TO BE DIMINISHING EVERY WEEK.


PRESIDENT STATED THAT THE FAIR BOARD WAS TO MEET WITH THE VHHA NEXT WEEK AND THAT GREGG WOULD REPRESENT US.


THERE WAS DISCUSSION ON A PROPOSAL BY GREGG TO ADOPT A TRANSFER RULE THAT WOULD ALLOW VIRGINA OWNERS TO TRANSFER HORSE JUST FOR OUR RACE MEET FOR THE PURPOSE OF RECEIVING PREFFERED STATUS FOR OVERNIGHT RACES ONLY.


SCOTT WOOGEN TO RIGHT THE RULE AND SUBMIT TO THE FULL BOARD.
